![]() If you try and download a new update w/o wifi it will give an error message saying to turn on wifi. It seems just like a windows computer with it's restore function, it saves a copy of the latest FW you downloaded so it can overwrite the corrupt FW with a fresh copy. Then it hit me.i forgot to turn wifi on ! Yet it said update complete and the issue was fixed. Anyways, had a issue recently and did a forced update which fixed it. ![]() I turn it off always except when doing a update because it is said to cause issues sometimes if left on. ![]() I discovered this by accident when doing a forced update but i forgot to turn wifi on. The reason i posted this is twofold.1-to tell owners that are having tone issues to try this, and 2-more importantly, and this is a new discovery for me, you can do this WITHOUT being connected to wifi ! Why is that important? Because if you are playing out and the amps tone takes a dump at a gig or whatever, you can do a forced update and get your tone back at the gig. This is done to fix a corrupt firmware which is all too common with the GT. A forced update is one where you are not updating to a new version but overwriting the current firmware with the same version. Then i did a forced update and the amp sounded great again. One recently was a very thin sound that was pretty much useless and i couldn't figure out what happened. Thats of course assuming anyone but me does which at this point nay be unlikely ! LOL! Personally when it sounds right i love the thing but i know many haven't had good luck with them.Īnyways, i've had issues with the tone of the amp changing in ways that make me want to toss it. ![]() I have had a number of issues with this thing in the 2+ years i've had it and i thought this might be helpful to anyone who owns one. ![]()
